A Thermoinformatic Logic of Sense

Of Logomachia: A Thermoinformatic Logic of Sense is a manuscript in preparation. It develops White’s work on logomachy: a philosophy of sense that examines language and the laws of thought in relation to the thermodynamic conditions of things.

The project grows out of his doctoral research on Artaud, energy and the dissipation of form, and subsequent work on signification, entropy and information. It asks how energetic transformation and informational organisation bear on the emergence, persistence and transformation of sense.

Conceptual transduction is central to this inquiry: the mutual development of concepts across domains. His work on Simondon and metastability examines how thermodynamic states challenge the philosophical application of identity, contradiction and the excluded middle.
